ParTek Solutions’ SecureReceipt Impacts Parking Revenue; Cities and Universities Fight Parking Ticket Fraud

During the economic downshift, some city and university departments of parking and transportation have seen a significant decreases in parking revenue due to counterfeit parking receipts. ParTek Solutions recognized the demand to remedy the problem and developed SecureReceipt™ paper, a counterfeit resistant, non-reproducible receipt paper product specifically designed for the parking industry. Since the launch in 2012, results have proven positive, financially and operationally.

“The development of the SecureReceipt precipitated over time as customers contacted us about designing a parking receipt that would be difficult to counterfeit. Our customers calculated revenue losses to be rather substantial, so we are thrilled to develop a fraud resistant product that is not only heat and humidity resistant but also designed to minimize all methods of counterfeiting,” explains Chris Paddock, Business Development Manager.

By implementing SecureReceipt paper, parking operations can determine whether counterfeit tickets are affecting their bottom line in three months or less.

"I have been using SecureReceipt paper in all of my ticket dispensers on our campus and have been very pleased with the results. After only two weeks of use, we saw drastic changes. The counterfeit and altered permits have decreased; our enforcement officers appreciate the vivid color and can easily see the dispenser paper on cluttered dashboards,” says Steven Dowdy, Security II Supervisor at UNC Police Parking Services.

In 2013, ParTek Solutions anticipates more cities and universities to incentivize parking by using SecureReceipt and collect more dollars that can be used to support campus and city initiatives. The SecureReceipt product will continue to evolve as counterfeit methods become more sophisticated.
